Get Involved

Over the course of the school year, there will be many opportunities for you to get to know your children’s teachers, their classmates and parents, and to contribute toward Valley View’s continued success. Help make it a school year to remember for your children.

room parent

Schedule play dates outside of school, facilitate volunteering between the FFO, classroom teachers and other parents, promote school events, and communicate with classroom parents via Bloomz.  

art auction

Our biggest fundraiser event of the year which features the artwork of Valley View’s students! Planning and organization begin in the fall with the event taking place in the spring. (Note: Many volunteers are needed to make this event a success!)

staff appreciation

Work as a committee in recognizing staff birthdays, coordinating holiday and end of the year luncheons, planning Teacher Appreciation Week in May, and any teacher recognition throughout the year.  

book fairs

Help out during our Scholastic Book Fairs by signing up for shifts to sell books, decorating the fair location, or helping with set up or clean up. Book fair hours are scheduled around regular drop off and pick up times throughout the book fair weeks, as well as during Pajama Nights in the spring. 

school pictures

Sign up for shifts to help the photographers coordinate with teachers and staff, and direct and organize students on school picture days.         

dine-outs

Help coordinate monthly dine out fundraisers at various local restaurants. 

service project

Help organize Valley View’s annual Community Service Project. 

library

Help keep the Valley View Library organized. Volunteers are needed to reshelve and reorganize books throughout the year.

cfsd foundation rep

Requires attendance at the district’s monthly Foundation meeting and to report back and update the FFO.  

teacher of the year

Serve as the Valley View representative on the Teacher of the Year Committee. Requires promoting and collecting nomination forms, scoring applications, and supporting the TOY event.
